Everything about it is a question. Steering wheel, headlights, cut outs for the front wheels.
    IOW Why?

It was a magazine project in Car Craft magazine in 1961 to illustrate what could be done with late model body parts. Bob Larivee from promotions inc (world of wheels ) hired Bill Cushenbery to bring the concept to life. the car was completed in 1963. It was an ISCA feature car for 2 years, an AMT model kit and was in the original run of hot wheels as the python. I found and restored it in 2009. hope that answers your question (which I really didn't understand) here is a thread on the car

They worked, thank you. The storm moved about 60 miles east and we didn't get any damage. Briefly lost power but that was all. Prayers sent for those who did get hit.

  7. I dunno which I like better, the Buick or the jalopy racer. ( I have a feeling I know which one @anthony myrick would pick, hint, hint)

Someone made a "project car" using late model body parts. No one's ever done that before 1961?
You found and restored it. That explains everything including the why.
