I messaged the seller asking if there was any water damage. After a few brusque replies by him, and me saying I was trying to do him a favor and had posted the ad on a website viewed by thousands daily, he backed off and said he'd take no less than $2500

@Atomic Reverend Alexander great ad! Fully lay out what's being sold, decent pictures and a great price. A couple misspellings to prove you aren't a bot. :D
I've got projects inside and out, plus need to get wheels for the current one, so I'm not in the market, but I hope it goes to a fair, honest buyer and a good home.

  12. What makes this Kaiser kind of funny is I wasn't actually in the market for a Kaiser or any car for that matter next thing you know I have three Kaisers... A 1951, a 1952 and a 1953, My ½ acre is starting to look like a early car junkyard with all the post-war cars lol. What is strange to me is the car really is a fairly good looking car for an early '50s car and yet it has strummed up little interest. I got a feeling I am going to have to get it driving and then drive the wheels off it.

  13. You can start a YouTube channel and "vice grip garage" it with a will it run and drive a bizllion miles video.

if you want a Will It Run for the Kaiser, check out cold war motors.
Spoiler alert, the dist support is the weak link.

    I've got 11 dodge vans on my 2 acres...

In my opinion, these are VERY good looking cars. A guy I knew in high school had one that he mildly customized and it looked great. Head and shoulders above any other Chrysler Corporation product of that era. That's not that far from me and if I were 30 years younger, I'd go get it. I have a '56 hemi lookin' for a home, and I'd take the challenge of shoehorning it into that narrow engine compartment.

Like the Kaisers, esp the Traveller. I'd want to put a supercharged Kaiser Jeep motor in it - factory Alum hemi head, roller rockers, et-al. IIRC, it was called the Tornado. Nothing else looked similar.
    & I need another project/builder like I need another hole-in-the-head. I've got ~ 20 IH's, Studes, AMC, etc; to re-home... ;( .

The tornado 6s were ohc. Like Pontiac’s 6 sprint. But the tornado really sucked and parts are made of unobtainium.

  21. I had a 63 Wagoner with a Tornado 6.
It ran ok, no power house, but ok.
However, the Borg Warner auto trans behind it SUCKED. Gene.

Ya, I forgot about the OHC part. Were built on Kaiser flat-six block. Mill's been discussed on other threads here. Designed n built for military use in the 715(?) series jeep pu's. Avail in civie jeep pu's & wagons too. Could be made to un-suck. No more work than a lot of other engines. & likely you won't see your mill in too many other cars/hotrods. Worth the price of admission. I'd still like one someday.

Getting off topic, but the Tornado 6 lived on in South America into the '80s, with a racing heritage even. Check out the IKA Torinos, based on '64 Rambler American body with a modified Tornado 6, so... sort of on topic?

  25. Because I have three of the Kaisers I bought a bunch of brake parts and a carb rebuild kit early this morning... I am figuring I'm going to get one of them up and driveable, if I am going to be stuck with the cars I might as well make them move and function...
