  3. Got all 4 springs done on the '66 Belair plus strut rod bushings, etc. I have the use of an alignment rack coming up.

The new front springs (from Dorman) left the front absurdly high, so we took 2 coils out of them. It sits 1" lower than the OG 20240929_153454.jpg 20240929_153527.jpg 20240929_153549.jpg springs and rides much better.

  4. Modified the bump stop mount
This should yield a 5 1/2 to 6 inch cruising bumper height

6 lug rotors just got here so now we can test for the 22s

Saw/heard a Ford Econoline van at Cruis'in the Coast a few years back with a real snot-sling'in-balls dragg'in-AA/Fueler sounding MOW-DER in that puppy !!
I'm not sure how well it ran but...when it was idling along, the back tires would bark in time with the blower surge !!!
    Talk about a sleeper.
That faded light blue that millions of Eco's wore...narrowed rearend to hide the BIG meats..and tinted windows and that was it.
One of "the crazies" fer sure that make going to the event worth it all.

  6. The Belair had a pull to the left, went under and worked the driver side strut rod, now it is world's better.

Got the 396 back from the machine shop the other day to go back into my good deed for the year project. 1969 chevelle ss that belonged to a friend of mine's late father, has been stored in the garage for a few decades with a broken lifter and wiped out cam, and im getting it back up and going for her and freshening things up

Picked up a dash last year for a wall hanging that turns out to be a '32 Chevy that fits perfect with a little modification.

image000001.jpeg The F550 bucket truck at work. Went to grease the upper ball joints-sigh WHY!
I figured out if I rotated the wheel “just right “ I can fit the grease gun between the yoke and U-joint, just barely makes the angle.
A 90 degree zerk would have been nice.

  12. No pictures but we aligned the Belair yesterday morning. Used Snap On portable tables, etc. Now it drives a lot better.

Also did the headlight alignment. I had installed all new adjusters and springs which made it a quick job.

Helped an 82 year old friend of my wife's, social security is her only income. Upper and lower ball joints on her 2007 Chrysler Aspen ready to fall out. Local rip off garage said 800 labor + parts. Figured I could do it a little more reasonable for her. Talked to my buddy at another shop, told the story, I bought the lower ball joints, they pressed the lowers out and in on the house. Replaced the uppers with new arms, and sway bar bushings had to buy a new battery too. Came in a little over 500 bucks.

Was in my shop for 10 or 12 days, got it tore down and got sick, that took a while cause Im a couple decades past 50 something, Ive had worse though. Had to wait on parts anyway. Torsion bar suspension looked like it been parked in a crick for a couple of years, thought I bit off more that I could chew, had to get a bigger and bigger hammer, but you know what they say. Perseverance or some shit. Anyway I won.
First of the month the wife hands me a hundred dollar bill first installment she said. I figure good enough if I dont see anymore at least god gave me the ability to help someone who needs it.

IMG_0137.jpeg IMG_0176.jpeg IMG_0188.jpeg IMG_0189.jpeg W900A 1966 the drivers window wouldn’t roll down . Took it apart and found the ears on the crank shaft were broken off . Welded them back on and it works good as new . There are new replacements but after picking one up there are differences . There 3/8” thick spacers where it bolts on to the door . The shaft the handle bolts on is 3/4” longer than the old one . So I repaired the old one .

Just giving you a like wouldn't be right...............Thats a fantastic car with exceptional ability to make the change look not only in perfect harmony, but like the OEM may have made it. Oughtta take it on one of the Power Tours...bet it would end up in a magazine feature if they ever saw it. Kudos to a very talented builder..........:)

Plugging away on the Chevelle SS that im doing for a friend, that belonged to her late dad, and at my normal lumbering break neck speed , but making progress. Its alot of going through and fixing/ replacing either stuff that has fallen apart in the 20+yrs its been sitting or the stuff that was maybe mickey moused/ half assed decades ago. Should be ready to fire up this weekend. (it is a girl's car now and ive lost a few compromises, so pictures were taken before the bright pink spark plug wires were put in :()

Brothers Camaro blew a brake line, been redoing those. While he ended up trading it for dad’s nova, so got both those in the garage while mine got moved to the side. As I slowly sand away on it. IMG_0112.jpeg IMG_0113.jpeg IMG_0114.jpeg
