I've seen pics before, they look really stupid (I just say that because I've had 59 fleetside trucks for a long time, so I'm used to them)

56 cameos look ok, though. they dont' have the rocket on the bed, and have appropriate tail lights/bumper stuff.

A '56 big-window with an Apache fleetside bed looks goofy?!??

Uh...okay. Looks GREAT to me. Not too enthused about the wheels and monochrome paint, but it's a fine piece of machinery...

It looks goofy to me because the front doesn't match the back. I've had a 59 fleetside for almost 30 years, I have a few more now.

how about this one? the prototype cameo...note it's a unibody

    and a normal cameo

    Cameos are great.

But the Apache bed doesn't look any more "out of place" on the '55-57 than it does on the '58-59. I mean... it's basically the same, except without the chrome spear and a better looking front end - IMO. ;) The '55-57 eggcrate grille looks a lot better than the later blocky one...

The cabs are the same, but I have to agree that seeing them without the quad headlights is weird. You can get a repop of the cameo sides if you want to go that way....

and I much prefer the GMC grills to the Chevy ones...

Zman speaks the gosepl on this one. They look odd without the front quads.
Still a good looking truck. Just seems *******ized, to me.
Heres a pick of my '58 Zman took in Joplin.

that's the thing, the 58-59 has a blocky front end which matches the blocky fleetside bed.

Im not saying that truck looks ugly, its just i the front of the 56' is more round shaped and looks good with the stepside. I wish i had a 59 front end cuz i could use the fleetside but im got this truck from my uncle. I dont have photoshop and i cant picture the fleetside on the 56. im putting primer and wide whites on it and will be driven to vegas next year...thats my goal.

I don't remember where the hell I saw the pic, but I saw a truck where they took the bed "spear" and extended it forward onto the cab, looked pretty clean. I'll see if I can't dig up the pic

  15. You guys are out of your ****in' minds and need gl***es. Fleetsides always look better! On the older trucks before fleets were available, steps looked good. If I can't say anything good, I try not to say anything at all. But I can't keep quiet on this one. On a truck without the fat fenders that protrude from the body, a stepside looks like a box with fenders tacked on. Because it is! I would never have a step in a year that a fleet was available. Just my opinion, if I offended any stepside owners, I appologize. Still don't like 'em.

  16. Damn that's a sharp truck. I'm starting to warm up to the color silver.

very rare trucks, i think they look bad***... to each their own

  18. '56 would look kick *** with a fleetside, especially if it's a shortbed.
