Who got in for Sick Week? The registration land rush was Saturday morning. Sold out in about 3 minutes from what I hear. I'm in for the Hot Rod class. There is also a Gasser class.

Racing 5 days at a Drag Week style event in Florida in late January has a lot of appeal for so many reasons!

    Schedule
Monday, January 27 - Tech & Testing, South Georgia Motorsports Park

Tuesday, January 28 - Day One, South Georgia Motorsports Park

Wednesday, January 29 - Day Two, Bradenton Motorsports Park

Thursday, January 30 - Day Three, Orlando Speedworld

Friday, January 31 - Day Four, Gainesville Raceway

Saturday, February 1 - Day Five South Georgia Motorsports Park

I need to redeem myself from my day 4 DNF at Sick Week 2024. I wear the shame like a millstone around my neck, and there is only one way to free myself of this burden. That process would be:

    Enter the event (done)
    re-assemble engine
    re-assemble car
    fix everything on the list
    dyno test
track test to dial in the suspension, tires and clutch
make it to the event on time
    finish the event

So I'm off to a good start, first item accomplished. With that out of the way, the rest should be a piece of cake! The event isn't until late January, so I have plenty of time to goof off and relax before I get started on the hot rod. side launch small.jpg

Good luck Joel. I love a good race day, but Drag and Drive is even better. Please keep us updated as the preparations proceed.

    Go man, Go!

Thanks for all the positive reinforcement! It'll be a week or 2 before I have an opportunity to start working on the Coupe. I picked up a 33 Auburn V12 Speedster a few weeks ago that has not run or drove for about 20 years, and I am trying to get it running in time to have a little fun with it before winter. Then, when that gets tucked away, I'll go full steam ahead on the coupe. As for now, I'm figuring out what parts I need. The rod bearings and cam bearings showed up today. I already have the rings and the block is honed.

Squirrel, Yup Sick Week in Florida January-February 2025. It is an amazing experience for an ice bound northerner to race all week in Florida in the winter!
I was registered for Sick 66 this month but had to withdraw due to a medical issue. I was really looking forward to the Sick 66, as some of us were going to start in Chicago and run Route 66 all the way to Santa Monica. So it' a big disappointment, but Sick Week will make up for it.
