In your description, remove “Edelbrock valve covers”, remove “electronic fuel-injection”, and you can’t have Mercury Zephyr gears. They were two different brands, so which is it?

Sad to hear of your Dad’s passing, he really put together a great little roadster. Lots of great advice here, maybe consider keeping this and joining us! I know Swade 41 is in Buffalo and I bet there are a few others nearby ( you can do a member search just by using the state). Get a group conversation going about the car/sale, I’m pretty sure you will get some useful knowledge and maybe even some assistance on how best to proceed. All the Best, Carp.

Yeah, in the for sale section. And there's apparently many folk that only look in the for sales, and not the discussion.

Already mentioned is the other for sale section that @Ryan created but I'm thinking this didn't get the desired traction? But was a neat idea and the ads were as much a detailed magazine feature as a for sale add. Maybe it's still running?

I wish I could keep it but it's part of the estate.

After you get the Title straightened out, put it in the Cars For Sale Classifieds with a asking price.

    A price is required.

    Thanks.

You can always purchase it from the estate?

  12. New York state does not issue titles to pre 1973 vehicles, they issue a transferable registration which other states accept as a title.
So nothing needs straightened out on that end of things, he has a good current transferable registration for the car.

Appears the problem arrises with the proposed re sellers who don't want to learn or know the rules .

Let me rephrase what I posted.
While New York has a transferable Title,
There are no numbers on the car which could be a big problem to a buyer.

The owner who got it in the estate is trying to get it sorted out which is a good thing.

Definitely reduces the amount of buyers with no numbers. Could be an issue , potential mess.

    My point.

I'd wager crawling around and searching the frame rails or door jambs would produce a number. If not now is the time to stamp it.

Yes. I confirmed with the NYS DMV today that everything is in proper order. So I can proceed.
    thanks

Sell it to someone from Iowa. We won’t need an inspection.

Stamping the frame is illegal in almost all 50 states. Unless you are a state DMV officer.

Your father was a member of Fordbarn starting in 2010, going by "bob da-bear". He only had a few posts and also advertised a 5W Coupe for sale. He last logged in there in 2015. Is the 32 5-Window Coupe also part of the estate? Here are a couple of the pictures in his Fordbarn album:

Looks like the 32 five window was purchased by Iron Trap Garage about 6 months ago.

Do you have siblings pressuring you to sell?

  25. Au contraire mon frere, Having done battle with the SCDMV with a NEW York registration and a close neighbor Georgia I can assure you that South Carolina will not except anything but a title. HRP

  26. My mom and dad moved from upstate NY to Florence S.C. in 1980, dad was driving the 1972 F-100 he bought new from W.S. Hinkley Ford right here in Grand Gorge NY.

When he went to register the truck in S.C. they asked for a title he explained there were no titles in New York in 1972.

The South Carolina D.M.V. office called Albany (the capital of New York is Albany not N.Y.C. despite what down state NYers think!) Albany confirmed what dad said and S.C. issued a title.

Of course that was 44 years ago...

Sometimes that is what it takes; I explained to the CHP doing my VIN verification how pre1970 Harleys VIN was on the engine case, nothing on frame...he made a phone call to Sacramento, who verified this. ABC
