I'd heard of the invite only private event called the Geezer Gathering in Wichita for years. This year I was invited to attend. The gentleman that started the event was named Roy Merritt, and it started in his yard! At one point with more than 100 cars showing up they needed a new venue, this one was held down town in Wichita on some side streets next to an amazing private garage located in what used to be a professional bakery. Unfortunately Mr Merritt passed away early this year, so many felt that this would be the final Geezer Gathering. A couple of people have expressed interest in keeping the tradition alive so we'll see where it goes from here. Now, fair warning, some of these rods are more street rod than hot rod, but there still were plenty of hot rods in the mix.
