Top movie. Watched here in Adelaide last night! Memories. Won't go into historical inaccuracies, but I don't think there were any US POW's in that camp at that time. But hey,it's hollywood.
Hey Impala4speed, Thank you. Those were taken on the road from our back seat and also our mom took some of the ones at the visitors sites. The ones with me were taken by my brother and even our mom got in on the filming. She even took on from her seat of a deer crossing the road. Once in a lifetime moment... on Highway 395 On the way home to Long Beach. Our dad also got into the filming mode, when we stopped for breakfast or lunch in this dinky town called Lee Vining. Lee Vining is located at the exit of the cross mountain Tioga Pass Road from Yosemite National Park location to the West. That road leading out of the Yosemite National Park needed some filming, but we were all scared of the steep down hill road with barely any barriers on the cliff side edge. Downhill is not a view site for the weary travelers. Yikes! Jnaki If you are ever traveling in the inland Highway 395 or in So Cal for a vacation, this area is a must see. Only make sure it is not in the winter. The Tioga Road is closed and the Mammoth Mountain /Lake Crowley area is packed with the deepest snow ever. This winter set all sorts of records for daily snow drifts and continuous snow storms. a traveler's nightmare +++ It was covering most houses built in the city and wooded areas. YRMV
