hey ya'll' working on my 37 ford panel, 59AB and 39 style trans. trying to get to the clutch so i need to pull the rear. trouble i'm having is separating the trans from the torque tube. i have enclosed a couple pictures. my question is where does it come apart and how much force is generally necessary? any tips? it really seems stuck in there. i'm still pretty new to the hobbie so i'd appreacite any info
Looks like your almost there. If you push the inner piece toward the trans I think you will find it's the u joint that is stuck.
There are 2 ways to remove the transmission. One is to first remove the engine and keep the complete rear end in place.. The 2nd is to leave the engine in place and roll the rear end back. Reading this thread will tell you all about each. While you have everything apart, be sure to install all new torque tube clam shell seals.
