I posted it because it's one of the best and because the last time I did see a picture of it, there was an attractive lady in it! :)

Putting a new rad in my '41. I haven't driven it much in the last couple of years. It had a '56 Chevy truck radiator in it that started leaking. I took the rad to the last shop in Wichita that repairs them. They could fix it for 900 bucks. I said no thanks, I can't afford that right now and ordered an aluminum radiator from Speedway. It came the day after I ordered it. Just need to put it in. Time to get it going!

FYI, the interior is in the "plush & padded" thread.

I drove my roadster the other day with the top up for the first time this year and forgot my "Milner slouch". I hit a raised section on the freeway at 70 MPH and put my head right into the top bow! Sometimes driving posture is cool and sometimes it is required.

...Did you notice the "Rumspringa" on the back? That time when young Amish kids are allowed to "test" the waters of the English world to see it they want to continue in the Amish culture.

    Hello,

I found a corresponding thread from way back to showcase the latest photo shot of a famous, drag race, street car (truck) at Lions Dragstrip. (Charlie “The Painter” Ettein’s yellow, pickup truck...a Los Angeles local.) It looked innocent enough with all of the stuff on it, but when it fired up and made a run, that was impressive.

I was able to shoot a quick photo of the newly updated truck at the first edition of the Lion’s Dragstrip Museum in Long Beach. It is the 2017 updated style, but pretty accurate in its early form. The rest of the paraphernalia would be added later in the final display. I had to shoot and run as the saying goes.

More on this truck later. But, a little history first:
    upload_2024-10-28_4-38-29.png Drag News 1959
A blown Chrysler engine with an automatic transmission used over 100,000 miles of daily driving, what an amazing feat. (A 5000+ lbs. truck slated for C/Gas... Our 671, SBC, 40 Willys rivalry/compe***ion in the making... including the idea of extra weight in the rear to make the cl*** rules.)

upload_2024-10-28_4-39-36.png Grist Brothers A/gas + Painter's truck B/Gas + Doug Cook C/Gas + Bones Balogh D/Gas quite a list of known racers to most in drag racing.

1959 Lion’s Dragstrip Charlie Ettien on right side of staging lane. (yellow)
    Note:

Ours weight set up for the Willys was a couple of large, 1 inch steel plates, welded in to shore up and cover the whole rear trunk area. We welded extra pieces right over the rear axle. Thanks for the idea...We easily made the weight rules for C/Gas in 1960. YRMV
