Fantastic show, a who's who of the hot rod world. My 32 truck and I were relegated to the civilian parking lot. Glad I had my scooter, made the day more enjoyable. Car quality was over the top. Almost out of room for hot rods. Looking forward to next year.
Snagged these photos of @krylon32 new truck. Fat Jacks son Johnny took them and posted them online. Knowing krylon32 is photo challenged I figured I’d save them to post here I didn’t see it myself, I was only in town for about 12 hours so I saw like maybe 1/3 of the cars and 1/100 of the people I knew. Next years gonna be nuts if the annual upgrade of the show continues
This was the best car related weekend we have had in a decade. great weather, some fantastic backroads and scenery, and the cars... man. The show was outstanding, the people were great. We already have a house reserved for next year's return voyage.
I told him the same. He tried to claim that he hung around the car more than normal…. Just not when we went by.
Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay for next year? We will be heading down next year and would like to get a reservation early on. Thanks
Lol! I’m bummed I missed both you guys! I ended up by the car more than usual with the family all there and hanging out with them. I walked the show a couple times, but looking at the pics there is a whole lot I missed…including people. Lol We’ve been renting Airbnb’s and often find them cheaper than hotels.
I've never been to the Roc and never have been there, what is the secret to being accepted to be in the show grounds with your car or truck, personally I can't see why Gary would be regulated to parking in the spectator lot. HRP
@HOTRODPRIMER there is a cap on the number of cars and it’s not very high compared to a lot of shows. Some years they’ve set it at 250 cars. It’s pre registered only and last year they hit the 400 accepted car mark in 12 hours. so often it’s a mix of you just weren’t fast enough to submit and they try to mix up the field so it’s not the same cars every year. There are a handful of repeat cars but largely this is a different show every year. I’m actually pretty sure the truck was in the show before Gary had it and made it nicer.
@HOTRODPRIMER , I would say your sedan would be accepted. Several years ago, I applied in January, when the invitation process was just starting. I attached a couple photos of my rod, that were on my phone. Ten minutes later I received my Invitation by email. Next step was to register and pay entrance fee. AND get a hotel room. Easy peasy.
We also went the VRBO or AirBnB route. We rented next years house within 2 hours of leaving the show, because there was no way we weren't going back!
previous years I’ve seen up to 200 more old cars at the host hotel and party’s than in the actual show. If you don’t get a spot in the show no fear you’ll still have a blast all weekend
Only one of the three cars our group took was in the show. It had no bearing on the fun that was had, or the events we went to, etc. I won't even try to enter the show with my junk. The parking lot show is perfectly fine.
I havnt seen anything officially posted online. I know they typically announce the date during the awards on Saturday but I didn’t catch it.
They announced October 11, 2025. I hope that is correct, because that is the wewkend we rented a house!
