1952-59 Ford 1955 ford crown vic door latch

My p***enger side latch is worn pretty bad. Does anyone have a part book that would show years interchanging. I have several 53 Mercurys I can get a door latch from if they are the same. I would think the 55 t bird would be the same but they are pretty pricey.

Do you need the door side or the body side?

 

It looks like '55 is a one year only part # B5A-21812. '56 is a different part # which seems strange.

 

I’m pretty sure the ‘55 can be upgraded to the ‘56 style, maybe someone with more knowledge about them will chime in.

56 changes to a "safer" type latch. I think it can be used but also have to change the striker plate to a 56 as well
