Looks like some high end audio equipment for the day. Very cool.

Good use of an old big car or truck. You can see it has 2 transmissions…I’m guessing it had a big truck low geared rear end too so it can creep along at idle.

Great back story about Marty Robbins and his Nascar career. In 1974 during the Charlotte 500 he came out of a turn to see 3 or 4 cars in front of him that had all been a wreck. He said later he knew plowing into them someone was going to get seriously injured or killed. At 160 mph he ran his car into the wall to avoid the collision, got pretty beat up too.

Also, his 1960 record "Don't Worry" was the first time 'fuzz' guitar was used. It was a happy accident but changed the world of music.

As kids we learned how to drive stick and maneuver around my friend's farm in these cut down car/tractor combos that I think we called "bugs".

Man you struck a big memory in me here , talking about Marty Robbins. Near the end of my attempt at making a living in professional drag racing, traveling up and down eastern part of the country to different tracks every weekend. Marty came out with a song 'Twentieth Century Drifter' about his traveling during his Nascar career, although it was meant about round track racing it fit me and my travels to a tee.

Every time I was on the road traveling to a race/races, I played that song many times going and coming home :). Cassette tape that I almost wore it out, if you remember those back in the day ;).
