On the way home from the Cherokee Rod Run in North Carolina we had to take a denture and were traveling some very rough roads, we were in somewhere in Georgia when the lane abruptly ended and a quick change had to be made a long with a quick stop, unfortunately my quick stop wasn't quick enough and my pal Mikes bumper suffered me bumping his truck, fortunately no one was hurt, if you don't count feelings, the wagon took the worst of the accident, the car stopped but all the excess gravel contributed to the accident, The Georgia Highway patrol officer found me a rollback to take the car and us home, can't drive with a busted radiator.

Brenda and I were unhurt although she was upset about her car, cars can be repaired.

It appears the bumper is toast, the splash apron is also, the bullet nose, the upper grille valance and trim are crunched, the fan & radiator, it could have been much worse.

Now I gotta start looking for parts. HRP

Too bad there is no dislike ****on. That stinks. But overall even the car seems to have made it out OK. Just a couple items to fix/replace. Glad nobody was seriously hurt.

Ugh, that's a terrible end to a fun day. It doesn't look like a hard enough hit to have pushed the fan into the radiator, did it get damaged some other way?

The good news is I have a bumper (which could use a re-chrome) and a splash apron. The bad news is I'm in TX so I can't imagine what shipping would be.

sorry to hear that. I have the bars and the center piece if interested. They are rust and dent free but the chrome is what I call milky. Let me me know if interested and I can send pics.

Sorry to hear that. Thankfully no one was hurt. Your built thread was one of the first I followed when I joined. I really like what you did with your car.

Yeah, that ****s but it could have been so much worse. Like you said, call your insurance agent, collect parts and do what we love, work on Brenda's car. Best of luck.

Man, that's what everyone fears, something happening to the car.... but the people are all right so we can fix this. I had a friend here run into a deer with his 53 recently, really tore up the front of the car but all sheet metal and no frame damage. Ended up buying a parts car to rob everything off of so that went well but dealing with the insurance company was a nightmare. They instantly wanted to total the car and give him the "stated value", turns out he was a little behind in keeping up with current inflated prices of repairs. He didn't want to end up with a branded ***le so the chess match begins. So far he has done all the repairs out of pocket (well do***ented of course) but is still arguing with the insurance company.

That's the problem with "stated value" on insurance. Always do "agreed value".BUT, it sounds to me like he had it underinsured anyways, since they offered to give him his stated value.

Unforunately, I had a recent issue as well. I backed into a metal post and put a small dent in my rolled pan. Not a biggie to fix except I don't have any paint left over.
