    When I posted that last photo I tried to post another one but it said it was too large a file. Both were taken with my phone. I don't have a computer at the moment so it might be a while before I post the rest of the build.

    I spoke too soon the other day when I said the car had run without any problems. Tempted fate I guess.
    I checked the plugs a few days ago and found one was wet with water. It's been a bit smokey too so I decided to pull the head that side to see what was going on. I suspected the head gasket had gone. Sure enough it looks like that's what it was.
    I will now strip the rest of the engine to try and find out why is smoking. So here is the head gasket. These were new less than 3000 miles ago.

    IMG_20241016_112250_112.jpg So this is my car today. Tomorrow with the help of my mate Glen (I don't know what I would do without your help mate.) I will pull the engine and begin to strip and examine everything.

    IMG_20241015_104644_565.jpg so water in no. 4 and oil in no. 2 cylinder. There was water in the valve chest too but the oil seems ok. This might be because I caught it before the oil got emulsified. I investigated originally because it overheated and then pushed a lot of water out of the overflow when I topped it up.

    Any input welcome, I am a novice when it comes to working on flatheads.

    Sorry 'bout the head gasket, you'll get it straightened out. I'd started watching your build when you first started, then it kinda fell out of sight. The finished car is impressive to say the least, your skill set is amazing!

    Thank you, I have been doing this a long time, since I was a teenager so fifty years of working with metal. Most of that time I have worked on old cars or bikes.

    I'm not so hot on mechanics (mechanicals) though. It's the oil being burned and oil in the cylinders that I'm more concerned about in this instance. Hence the strip down.

    Hi Phil, yes Glen is coming to the rescue, he's coming over today and we are going to get the engine out and in a stand so he's bringing an engine crane and the stand. I would be stuck without him.
