Spring Green 69 Hemi Roadrunner. My uncle owned a 383 Automatic car this color, pretty rare since introduced late in the model run. Always loved this color, unfortunately my Uncle totaled his car.

It looks like an attempt at Petty Blue, off a little hit but maybe due to age or the camera. Someone else took the pic, I didn't get to see it before it left the show.

If you go over to the winged warriors site, they have some great pictures of the Daytonas and Superbirds there from dealer ads to present day. It is extremely rare for any of them to be original paint, especially when the body was painted, then sent to Creative for modifications and another round of fill-in paint, then to the dealers, who had to warranty many paint jobs. Then everybody was modifying them in the 70s and 80s.
The paint on that car is too clean to be OE. Most people that restore these want it back to stock, but there are quite a few that will keep a color change. I don't have the exact number of Petty Blue cars memorized, but it was extremely low.

This is the most active. solid forum on them I am aware of.

They have a registry that has not been updated for years.
The Petty Blue or Corporate Blue is code 999 (special color)
in the registry, they have 43 examples with 999.

Please note that there are some other colors that might have been coded with this as 999 is a catchall for special order.
The Superbirds were supposed to be limited to just 7 colors, but that wasn't true, either. I'll let you dive down that rabbit hole if you want.
Even with some of these people keeping track of cars since the 70s, not all cars are accounted for and the 'official' list to allow them to be raced has known issues.

With those 2 links, you can stay busy for days or weeks diving into the history of these.

Love this triple Black one, although I found one a while back that is even more wild to consider, what with the upkeep. A Black with a White interior. Would have to go with the Rallye wheels, though.

Great post and resources. In the early 80s an FK5 (Dark Burnt Orange Poly) 440 Superbird surfaced, I first saw the car at Joe Kidd Dodge Mopar Meet around 1982. Originally it was dismissed as a repaint since none were supposed to leave the factory that color, even though the car was mostly original and had documentation, it was eventually confirmed to be a factory applied paint color. Years later another FK5 bird showed up and i think there is now a total of 3 known factory FK5 cars out there. As you stated, Petty Blue is extremely rare too and would have the 999 paint code, there was an original Petty Blue car in Northen KY in the 80s. Rumors have always circulated about a factory In-Violet (same as Plum Crazy Purple on Dodge) Superbird but to my knowledge it has never surfaced or been confirmed.

My brothers have a ridiculous amount of Mopars....I'll share a few here, this is my little brother's '69 Roadrunner. Was painted in '72, guy passed away, then got put in his sister's basement in '74 I do believe.....found and unearthed in 2014. We bought it in 2016.
