    Good morning Fellas

Looks kinda scammish. I say that because I see pictures with backgrounds ranging from a junkyard to a tabletop to green gr***.

If you can pay STANDARD PayPal then you are protected, and they know that.

If they insist on PayPal FRIENDS AND FAMILY then it might be a scam, or they might be trying to avoid paying fees. Making a transaction with F&F is free and offers no protection.

I recently bought something here on the HAMB and the seller asked me to pay F&F. I offered to pay extra to cover the PayPal fee and the transaction went just fine. The guy was legit

Ask him where he is located. Then tell him you have a former Army buddy, family member, etc. that lives one city over and they'll come by to look at the parts and pay in cash. If you get some song and dance about the parts being in storage and hard to get to, etc. you know it's a scam. On the other hand, if you get "sure, send them by" it's a better chance that the guy's legit. Years ago I did just that with a seller in NJ for NOS body parts for a big truck. This was before PayPal. Once my buddy confirmed everything was AOK I closed the deal and several weeks later the parts came freight collect.

One way to protect yourself is to ask for a pic of the parts with his name and date included in the pic. This says he at least has the part. If this is on Facebook, click on his names and see what it says. If only minimal info, stay away.
