the body will be light ivory, the roof blue like the dash. depending on the looks, the white part within the sweep spear will be blue too - not decided yet

Thx holliwood ! I know TX somewhat, I spent some months there while was in the air force. Us, a bunch of 4 crazies, bought a nice ride and did nothing but cruise. Was a fun time over there - I still miss that way of live. Germany is so... different hehe

btw... nice dogs - where did they get those tooth implants? :p

    Hey!
I'm just a bit east to downtown Munich; whenever you get to Munich again, drop me a line and we can meet. If its in spring or summer... we can take a ride in my 53. Nice Buick you got there ! How did you lower him (or her.. depends) ? Just cut off the coilsprings ?

Welcome and dang nice Buick. I like that paint scheme the way it is myself. I get to Stuttgart once in a while but still not Munich.

First a set of VW transporter springs were fitted by the previous owner as the ONLY mod to the stock car then....I got hold of it.
I fitted 8" bags in place of the coils with 3/8 lines and dump valves so she slams in less than 1/2 a second from full height to the bump stops (gotta remove them bump stops).
next I need to do the front but I have list as long as my arm of Kustom jobs to do from V8 to roof chop without taking it off the road for too lonmg.

Look forward to a ride next season!
    :)

Hi Danimal, the paintscheme on my Buick will be completely different by Saturday this week, Im gonna keep you posted. I always disliked the white paint on the hood - never understood why they did that.

I got the web-adress of a company who manufacts coilsprings to order. I phoned them and ordered 4" lower for the rear and 2.5" for the front. They got all weights and seizes of (maybe) all cars ever manufactured and they make those springs fitting the weight of your ride and the springs are progressive. I am pretty happy now, because he runs the road with much less "bumping and hopping". If you want their phone, just PM or mail me

I fitted it to get out the drive and cruise towing a trailer tent so she rides about 2" off the bump stops, ideally you are meant to take your bump stop height, calculate your ride height and then double it for the bag range.
That way you will be driving with the bags half inflated.
I run around the show fields on the stops and then run on halfs and go full height when I need to change a tyre (thats the hard part)...
I have got silencers but I decided not to fit them, I prefer to make people jump out of there skin as I trickle past them then slam it!

depends on the disk conversion, if I change the whole clip them I may aswell do it all at once.
If I just chance the stubs the bags will go straight on.
The beauty of the 53 Buick is the shocks are lever arm so they dont have to be touched, you remove the spring, fit a bag!
simple as that (oh and dont forget to make the brackets) but NO WELDING ON THE CAR!

yes, thats a priceless advantage on them ! I just got the brakes redone in whole... so i do not plan on changing to disk for now, but for sure later on the next years.

I had all the brakes relined and I checked all of it out and it is all fine but it still stops eventually and not how I would feel comfortable.
Ok, I know it isnt a new car but the way idiots drive and I have had people passing me staring and waving and NOT LOOKING WHERE THEY ARE GOING!!!

it fills me full of confidence if the car stops quickly.
So, disk's are on my shopping list.
I did fit a servo but it just locked up due to the in line residual pressure valve in the master cylinder but...if i removed it I would have got bleed back into the master from the servo so....I will wait until I have all the right bits to do it properly.

true. all i fear is the others driving on roads i use. taking "the others" into consideration, a disk conversion sure is of some real value.
shopping list still doesnt show that item tho ... maybe in 2 years.
if only not evrything would cost money haha

  25. Oh, you like my dogs huh? :D I had them bred that way. My hometown is where Texas A&M University is, and they have a really cool genetics lab there. I went and talked to the director of the cloning dept. and he hooked me up :) I also have a new liver on standby, for when mine takes a crapper from all the drinkin
