Hello, I am in need a Delco Remy 714-Q starter motor for my 1930 Desoto Six. I believe my starter failed, I would appreciate if anyone has a lead on this motor or even better a spare one.

    Thanks yall.

If you can't find one, I'd visit a long established starter / alternator rebuild shop in your area and have it fixed or rebuilt.
My local shop seems to fix just about anything.

I had him in mind, but I think the basement full of vintage cores probably got scrapped.

@Chris Zhang , do some research, see if a ‘31/32 Dodge 6 starter is interchangeable.
    Then let me know.

I did some research, here it what turned up, for 714Q starter motor. Looks like Chrysler, Desoto, and some Dodge models share the same one.

It may not be your starter it may only be your push switch on top of the starter. Did you try to jump it ?

I’ll see if I can spot it before work, and get some numbers off of it.

Push button seems to be in good shape, it just when I engage the starter button by hand, I head thump thump thump. Something us up with starter motor I guess.

Heck, it’s not in the box I thought it was, I’ll spend some time at the end of the week when I’m off

Thanks for the mention from you and Beans
Definitely don’t have any cores left or units but hopefully there is a local rebuilder left that can help Chris out.

Hemmings or the AACA site might help. Just don’t tell AACA if it’s in a hot rod.
