I need to get the pieces that cover the A pillar on each side of the windshield opening but don't know the correct name to search. Help is appreciated.

In a 1940 that piece is referred to as an interior windshield "reveal". In the photo shown, the "reveal" is the upholstery covered piece of sheet metal that fits on the A-pillar between the windshield garnish molding and side window frame.
In a 40 Ford it is covered with the same material as the headliner and is installed after the headliner. Perhaps in 1932 it had a different name.
