The fall colors are kinda muted in North Central Minnesota this year because of the dry weather. Looks to be statewide.

This years fall colors seem to be a real mix of just sort of, and WOW, and the difference between the two stages may not be very far apart from each other.

We have a rather large park here with a one mile paved circle filled and surrounded by trees. On the west side (looking west) the colors are mostly green, light yellow, or gone, on the east side (looking west) are brilliant reds, bright oranges, yellows, some green, and a lot of leaves falling to the ground that are brown.

As windy as it is here today, the trees may be mostly bare by tomorrow.

I was saving these for the Friday Art Show, but this seems appropriate....taken in my driveway when the sun peeked out, pulled the car out and got some pics real quick.

From last fall. Colors haven't even thought about changing in Inland SoCal.

I''m happy when the leaves fall. Easier to spot old cars in backyards and groves.

Fall is different here in Tx. Last week I was driving from Austin to Dallas and the sun was coming up so I had to grab a pic. Kinda falls into Fall colors :)

    Hello,

The fall season is different in the Westcoast versus the Eastcoast. Most of the trees we have out here are green all year around. But, to make thing a little messy on various streets, there are trees that lose their leaves and make a mess all around. We just saw a Charlie Brown show that had a giant pile of leaves in their yard. This makes for a hilarious scene.

But, in our coastal neighborhood, there are rows of trees that lose their leaves and pile up along the curb all during the season, into the winter months. Luckily, there are evergreen trees that make the area nice.

Something has to be said about using fall colors in hot rod building. We all like yellow, red, blue, and black, but those can get too flashy and bright. The fall colors, green, brown and dark orange make its own way.

When I took this photo of a cool 29 Ford Sedan Delivery, I had to find a colorful spot as the picky editors kept saying, it is not red or blue. It is a tremendous build, but, bring us some color. Repainting it was out of the question, so a colorful background was chosen.
upload_2024-10-24_4-26-3.png No one can’t fault a colorful So Cal blue skyline with no obstructions other than blue water… Now, it was good enough for a color page… A little composition in the photo layout and dah…dah… YES!

It is an old Bay-Area car that was shown heavily in the late 50’s and early 60’s. It was owned by a friend of Andy Brizio’s named Joe “Rebel” Passalaqua from San Francisco.

The car came to Oregon in the middle-60’s and was rarely driven or shown. I bought it a few years ago from a friend of the guy who’d owned it from the 60’s through the time of his death in around 2015.

I’m still looking for history on it from its time in California, but most of what I know can be found here:

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ton-joe-passalaqua-bay-area-ca-1960s.1252394/

Joe Passalaqua owned a bar in San Francisco and had quite a few neat cars, including the Frank Rose Model T Roadster which was the AMBR car in 1954.

The Phaeton is basically untouched, all I did was add steel wheels and Lyons caps.

That truck must have some serious suspension to hold that tree without sagging...
