Wondering if anyone can verify if this is a Starfire frame or if it's just an ordinary frame. Can't verify X member thickness until maybe next weekend. Does anyone have the details as to what the thickness of the x member should be? With a date of Nov 12 1954 wouldn't it be a '55?

You'd think that but it's definitely a 54. Or maybe they just have a 54 steering wheel.

  4. Didn't the '54 still have the fluid filled lever shocks/upper control arms? That looks like a '55 front suspension to me.

Was there even a “starfire” designation in ‘54? I am fairly certain there was not in 55. If I remember this all right, they had 88, super 88, and 98. Holidays were hardtop coupes and sedans. I could easily be wrong or mixed up details here though. I have never heard any reference to any of those in particular having special frames; I would be most concerned with the wheelbase of the frame if you have a specific body you are planning to use it for.

  7. Starfire was the convertible...and yes there was both 1954 and '55 Starfires.

I have posted this pic before for you. Looking at your photos I don't think the x member is thick enough (hard to tell from a pic of course). IMG_0692.JPG IMG_0691.JPG
