I've used sealed joints on daily driver stuff - never had an issue. My pickup, when I finally had to replace them, had 250xxx miles on it. Still had the wax burned into the u-joint caps (the factory does this instead of clips), so I know the joints were original.

That answers my question if they need an initial greasing on install then I suppose.

Yeah they come greased already. I suppose for extra insurance you could jam some more in there before pressing the caps on.

  4. Lakewood had one in all the speed shops, Ford to GM and was supposed to be "blow proof". Until I had one let go while leading the feature at Islip... on the last lap. I got a Car Quest one and it held up fine. My Ford has a Spicer from when I had the driveshaft built.

Everything you need to know about 'joints is in the link below.

That’s one heck of a link!

looking online a bronco test should have the 1310 and all the th350 yokes I see speedway carry are 1310 so maybe they are both the same. I had the driveshaft made so long ago, this is why I post photos of the boxes now that the hamb can host photos. lol then in ten years I don’t have to figure it out again lol

Well after talking with some buddy’s and crawling under the car I think the noise was something else. So I fought with clearance and a slippery grease gun and pushed a bunch of new grease into both joints and went for a cruise around the neighborhood.

    zero noises.

chalk it up to a one time weird set of noises? I’m gonna drive it around some this fall and see what it does. Got the new welder wired so now I’m moving onto the new rear shock mount set up as my next order of business.

No photos but here’s one of @Austin kays hot Rod project that I stole from him ;) IMG_6734.jpeg classic

The '47 I just bought, doesn't have a heater in it like this, I think they call the style I have a fresh air system? The simplest way to describe it, is a squirrel cage mounted sideways? Anyway, I'd like to find a heater like this and do something similar.

They seem pretty common in 40’s fords I think finding one shouldn’t be to much of a challenge. I’ll keep an eye out
