Technical 200R4 shifting question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by willys36, Oct 24, 2024.

  1. I have a new BowTie Overdrive 200R4 with their throttle cable cam that passed all the pre-pressure tests. I test drove it and it shifts at the right rpm but only when I back off the throttle a tiny bit. I also installed a governor with weight trimmed off the centrifugal weight but I don't think that would affect my shifting problem. I've done that on several builds with no problem.

I'm thinking I need to back down the throttle cable adjustment a tiny bit.

Not a direct answer, but I’d talk with them and explain it.

What rpm does it shift at if you don’t back off the throttle?

The TV cable is a little too tight. It will shift when you back off the throttle so may be TV is too tight.
