  12. 1968/71 Holden Monaro muscle car and what they are supposed to look like. Not really funny as it must have been someones pride and joy.

Sad to see a HK/T/G get the Titanic treatment. :(

They are supposed to look like this, with the 327 muscling it's way up the Mountain

It's interesting that the HK (1968) just misses the HAMB date cutoff for the main board. With Australia lagging a few years behind the US styling cues, it almost fits in visually.

    Cheers,

In a long boring discussion on another website about rod length vs piston speed and when in the cycle the piston reached its greatest velocity. I said the piston was moving it's fastest just before it pushed the rod through the pan.

or take most of the drivetrain with it...

    Magic muffler Fiat.jpg

That Magic Muffler Fiat photo comes to mind every time I see a rod-thrown-out story. There is a similar photo of a transmission failure, case in the car but with almost all the gearbox parts on the floor in a pool of fluid. From memory a Torqueflite, bloke standing in front of it wearing a Stetson hat. Couldn't find that one though.

    That's the one - thankyou :)

Anyone know the story behind it (car, engine, trans, racing or road, where, when), or who the Man in the Hat is?

Methinks it's a 64 Dodge Polara and a Torqueflite, but then again I'm no Dodge expert.

    Cheers,

I wonder if that is Landy's famous 330? The headlight/grille are different, but then again I am no Dodge expert.
