How could you talk about this movie and not mention the coolest parts?
Tommy Ivo, his T, and the first dragster he built!

    Hello,
Thanks to @dreracecar I was able to finally identify the white 4 cylinder FED in the Tommy Ivo movie. We had seen the movie and then one Saturday, we saw the same exact FED car at Lions Dragstrip. The name of the 4 cylinder FED (owner/driver) in the garage scene of "The Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow" with Tommy Ivo's other cars was always in our minds.

    From an old thread:

“In the movie “Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow”, there is a scene in a garage. Those hot rods and drag race cars are pretty cool. Especially when one or more of them is Tommy Ivo’s early single injected Buick FED. Then the T-Roadster.”

But, in the foreground, is a dragster that looks like the same chassis as the red Ivo single Buick FED. Some identifications mentioned were “The Merrymen.” It has a four cylinder motor with Moon Discs and wire front wheels. It looks similar to Tommy Ivo’s first dragster.

It is always nice to go through the old collection to weed out duplicates and additions. Thanks for the always popular Halloween version of this funky teen oriented movie from those funny times.. YRMV

    Note: @Rolleiflex
From the old collection I filmed as a young teen, here is Tommy Ivo's single engine Buick FED through the progression to the mid 1959 season. Then, of course the twin came into play. But, it went from injected Buick to 671 Buick to Don Prudhomme and carburetor powered Buick motor.

    Ivo progression

    Ivo to Don Prudhomme:

Looks like Toad behind Tommy in the last shot.

  6. I guess because I'm a little young at 46 years old I have never seen this movie before. At this point in my life I thought I had seen all the 1950s hot rod movies. I enjoyed this one, I wish there was about 15 more minutes to it with more car scenes but it was a worthy flick and I say that not really being into movies.
