Here go my '62. It has four doors, but I think I may be somewhat cool when cruising this thing. Deluxe.
Nice Merc, Snowman. My dad always told me that a Merc is just like a Ford, except all the bolts are tight.
My wifes. All original, we are the second owners. Garage kept, 74,000 original miles when we bought it.
I have a '63 Galaxie 500,2 door boxtop, same style as the '62 before the switch to the fastback style:
Here's my 500XL, everyones probably tired of looking at. Stock height with skirts and og convertible boot, and then sitting on the frame. Ive got the og front bumper guards back on now. There is a 1962 Galaxie registry online that is pretty cool, lists all the options, colors, engine combo's etc.
I found a 62 Galaxie 2 dr post that I'm thinking about in my area. Surprised to find that it has a Y-block 292.
Ok, I don't own a Galaxie, but I found one that I am thinking about if I can get my $$$ together. Here it is...don't laugh: I always liked the early 60s big Fairlanes and the pre-63 Galaxies. Here's a few pics from here on the HAMB that have inspired me:
Sick Nailz!!! Never tired of this one!! Here's mine, well my wife's now!!! This one is getting a major overhaul very soon!!!! We got some major plans, she's gonna have a very period correct early 60's custom!!! except air ride of course, not for the purists!!
ive got a 62 galaxie ht. bodys pretty god interior aint bad all orginal. 352 auto.gotta 429 with a c6 gonna drop in her this summer. but for now im just gonna drive her. post pics when i can find the damn camara.
This is my wife's '62. We're gonna finish the '49 Plymouth and then my '63 C10 before we jump back on it. Would love to get more ideas for '62's ... it's hard to find kool examples.
No pictures but I can still see it in my memory, an acquaintance, that was a year or two older bought a brand new 1962 red Galaxie two door post, the cheap one, it had a radio, heater, stick and OD and to top it off, a 406 (385 Horse) I lusted after his car and his girl friend more I only rode it in once A few years later a friend bought it from him after he came back from Viet Nam, stuffed a 425 Horse 427 in and did some racing He since built a clone of the car (and it is nice) but he said it never "hooked" like the original car He still has the org car but said it is wasted I can't remember what I had to eat for breakfast but I remember that event in 1962!
My dad had a black 1962 Galaxie 500 XL, 390/automatic. I got my first ticket in that car, $17.50 ~ man that was a lot of money in 1966. HRP

I came real close to buying this one from another HAMBer and good friend a few years back. I did end up with the wheels and tires after someone else bought it…
My old '62 went through a few different owners. I bought it back about 10 years ago and ended up selling it to a friend here in Omaha. He drove it for a while and sold it. It ended up getting wrecked to the point that it went to insurance auction and as far as I know it ended up in a junkyard in NW Missouri.
