My nephew Ken Strode shot that video in Sept. 2021. We certainly had a great time, and had plans of something bigger, but Jim Lindsay, Ken and I haven't figured out how to pull it off. I spoke with Chris Lytle, the other day about having a Dirt Drag at his place in Wenatchee, Wa. He has plenty of space, access to a grader, water truck, and a complete repair and welding shop on the grounds. Unlike the Alvord Dessert, motels, restaurants, stores, and everything is close by. We are thinking the middle of Sept. would be a good time, as it will be cooler. I will keep you all posted, if it materializes ! Jim has some great hot rods. The Alvord Desert has had certified races in the past. In 1976, in a jet-powered car Kitty O'Neil, set the land speed record for women on the Alvord averaging 512.710 mph. About about 5 years ago Jessi Combs was trying to beat that record when she crashed and died on the Alvord Desert...
