    Hello,

Back during the pandemic locked in place directive kept a lot of us home for the duration. But,
On one sunny day, my wife and I were on our way for a short coastal drive to get some "out of the house activities." Our backyard and sideyard had just been given the once over and it won't be for another month or so, to do the front yard as our bi-monthly maintenance activities. So, off we went, to go North from our location. Getting them both “spiffy” was the thing to do, so we did not feel as though the world was collapsing in on us.

We had seen several Model A and 1932 roadsters cruising around our coastal area for the last several months. But, surprise, surprise, I just happen to glance back in my rear view mirror and saw a nice red 32 Ford roadster in the next lane over, several cars behind. The traffic was flowing toward the freeway and there was no way to slow down to take better photos or perhaps a movie. (Intro photo above)

As we approached our turn off, the roadster rolled up and the look on the driver’s face said it all. “Happy to be on the road, but happier to be driving an open air roadster…” An ear to ear grin if there ever was one described.

But, since that old being squashed in feeling time period in the whole So Cal area for us, it was good to be able to get out and actually sit on bench overlooking the ocean and cool waves below. Outdoors along the coastal cliffside drive from Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar North to Carlsbad to the South with the many view stops along the route is always an ear to ear smile. It gives one clarity on the world outside of our tiny house.

So, one day as we were heading for the ocean, coastal drive to Oceanside Harbor and the water’s edge coastal drive farther South, we came upon a sight we had been waiting for since the pandemic started in early 2020.

The bright red 1932 roadster we had seen several years ago and not since then. If it was a local roadster, it too had a couple years off during the “locked in” time period, issued by the governor and USA pres.

Despite the advanced time period, the open air roadster still looked cool and the smile on the driver’s face said it all… hot rods, sunny days, even overcast days, on the road again all lead to a cool drive along the So Cal coastal areas for “situation clarity” for everyone. As Mikey’s friend implies: “Try it, you might like it…” or something to that effect. YRMV

Forgot about this thread until I got a notification via email. So here are a few more from a recent boogy with friends that came South from BC Canada and I joined them for much of their journey home. 20240919_111927.jpg 20240920_083311.jpg 20240920_101517.jpg 20240920_111840.jpg 20240923_072124.jpg 20240923_072715.jpg
