Pretty amazing car. While it fits the HAMB timeline, I thought it best to post over here. Many of us read the books and knew that James loved his Bentleys.
driving on the other side of the road isn't that hard...since you're sitting on the wrong side of the car, you know something must be different.
The real test is driving a Left Hand Drive car in a Right Hand Drive Country. You end up sitting on the kerb side of the car and can't see around the car in front to overtake. It takes some getting used to.
If I remember correctly that car was the replacement for the vintage Bentley which was wrecked in one of the early novels — chasing a '30s Chrysler, I believe?
They discuss it briefly in the video, but yes the blower Bentley was prior to this one in the books. https://hiconsumption.com/motors/best-james-bond-cars/#:~:text=In the books themselves, which preceded the still-ongoing,novel Goldfinger, an Aston Martin DB Mark III. Quote "Agent 007 mainly drove a Bentley 4.5L, later swapped for a Mark II Continental Bentley and, for a brief time in the seventh novel Goldfinger, an Aston Martin DB Mark III."
Just watched this, I'd kill to have that car, particularly when he gets the supercharger set up done.
Trust me, it won't take long. You'll need to concentrate the first 20 minutes but just go with the flow (used to drive from Vienna, Austria to London, UK with LHD vehicles regularly years ago and vice versa, never had a problem).
I drove all over England for the first time on vacation in '22. The rural roundabouts really messed with me. I encouraged the fam to not be afraid to yell' "LEFT" every time we approached. But we did cover 1,400 miles and no one died, so it's doable. Not so sure about cars not configured for their roads (mail trucks). Just don't ever pass, I guess.
