The signs I have had done are 24x36 acrylic. I put picture frames on them so I can hang them on the wall when I am not using them for a car show

I would suggest using a sign painter to paint your display board. Vinyl lettering or a digital print may be the easy way out but in my opinion they do not do a show car justice.

yup I 100% agree, mine were all hand painted by Mike Iverson, the same guy that panel striped the Swillco roadster and my Corvette....

  6. I acquired this one from a neighbor, former house owner left it behind, from the early 70's I think

  8. The one the OP posted is actually mine that I designed quickly for a show that was coming up. The long term plan is to have a nicer one created by a sign painter. If you are going the printed route like I did then you have to design the image in 600dpi at full size of it will come out pixelated.

Not really a car show guy but I did throw together a display panel for Rusty at the last minute for a 4th of July show. Then at the suggestion of a HAMB'r I had McPeak paint up a professional looking one for the next year's show . But a fancy/glossy one just didn't seem right so I gave McPeak free range and I really like what he came up with. I made a frame with reclaimed wood for the finishing touch. I usually hang them up on the wall of my bar booth as art and to protect them for future shows.

Lot of nice ones here.....had one made up for an OT muscle car about 25 years ago. Used a sign painter that specialized in them. He used oil drip pans painted your car color, then, of course, any kind of set up, logos, fonts types, colors, etc. that you wanted on it. Used an Auto Trend Product pan with the maker stamp in it.....makes a very cool looking board. Also used an aluminum heavy duty, collapsible table top easel to stand it up. I can dig it out and PM you some pics if you want to see what it looks like.

Excellent idea and handy if you show a flathead or Harley.
