Well, it was only 15 minutes... :) We haven't been down more than 20 minutes since well before 2001!

you know what i'm saying though, a little downtime for an overall speed increase is never an issue as far as i'm concerned.

It's weird a deal... I had a few complaints about performance, but the site was flying for me and all server diagnostics said page loads were great. I had an extra gig of RAM laying around, so we decided to plug it in for shits and giggles.

I just want to tell ya that it works great and that it's the best around I am truly addicted to this site, in fact I was thinking about making a 12 step program for those that have slow moving computers.

    The 12 Steps

Step One - I am powerless over my computer and my slow computer makes my life unmanageble

Step Two- Came to be beleive in a 20GB computer upgrade

Step Three- Made a decision to call Dell

Step Four - Made a searching fearless Inventory of my slammed 36 Truck

Step Five- Admitted to another Hamber and Ryan the exact nature of my wrongs.

Step Six- Were entirely ready to have the HAMB remove my desire for another SBC

Step Seven - Humble asked God to remove my wanting for Billet Parts

Step Eight - Made a list of all my Billet Catalogs and asked God to remove them all.

Step Nine- Made Direct amends to HAMBers wherever possible except when to do so would injur them or thier projects.

Step Ten- Continued to sell all my Billet, and conforming ways and when I was wrong promptly admitted it

Step Eleven-Sought through 30 weight and Gear oil to improve my conscious contact with the Hokey Ass Message Board

Step Twelve- Having had a spirtual awakening as the result of these steps, Tried to carry this message to fellow HAMBERS, and to practice these principals in all of my affairs.

You may have already stated this but what kind of setup are you running site(and or others) on? Is it in your home? Do you have a T1 or DS3? Just curious. I want to host my own site at home one day.

One of the things that has really impressed me about this board is the fact that it always loads so quickly. Of course, if the box is just up the road in Austin, it should. :)

EDIT: THe way you said you threw in some extra memory made me think you ran one server from your home or office... :)

My uptime on my little scooter board is almost as good. The longest it has been down is 16 days...as of today. Yes, my host has been down for 16 days. My databases were corrupted during the power outage they had. Apparently the backups, UPS, and generator they advertised as a selling point don't actually exist.

My dial up AOL is loving it at the moment!! Last 2 days i couldn't get anything to load. I tried all the AOL cures you mentioned and nothing worked. This afternoon it's great!! I can even do searches!

    Thanks

  26. Don't know what you did.......... but for some reason, now this site works great for me, fast...and lets me post pic's again. Now hopefully the bald spots in my hair will grow back where I was pulling it out trying to figure out what was going on the past couple weeks. Thank's Ryan......for whatever you did.

Didn't you warn everyone about AOL problems just a while ago?
I've been having good sucess with "Netscape 7.5."
Longest "load time" for me - off the HAMB - is about 1.2 seconds.
