Still here, gathered and mulched 800 bags of leaves in the past three weeks for use in new tree plants in the local parks. Had the RPU out Thursday, running just great. 38 degrees here today.

Hey guys! Picked this up today. Looks like I’m missing a few pieces so now to look for them.

 

Happy to say that I got my tyres sorted - the company that I bought them from replaced the two rear ones, and now there’s no vibration at 53-54mph, and I can happily cruise at 60mph.

I also swapped out the pitman arm on the 7 tooth steering box, to the shortened one (1 1/2” shorter) and fitted the adjustable drag link I made with some 49-54 chev parts I still had lying around. I am very happy with the way it steers. A lot less effort, and there is minimal correcting to ensure that it drives straight.

now for the next job on the list ……..

 

Anybody seen this before? Buddy just started a rebuild on his engine and found it.

I'm currently doing some research into the various banger blocks being made for a new archival video, and am a bit stumped on the UK based stuff.

Is anyone familiar with the Dagenham built stuff? Super interested in the AF/BF engines, as well as the E98T!

For the friends down under, I’m in search of an early style tail light stanchion that mounts to the bottom of the body on sedans. I was told the Australian/ New Zealand models mounted on the right side? I would like to add a second tail light for safety. Please let me know if you can help me out.

Nice looking motor, love the cream color. What can you tell us about the crossflow head in the photo?

 

Eubanks and Drake head. Set up with mechanical fuel injection. Has a 5 main crank, I’m currently saving my pennies to have @johnneilson set up a girdle for me. It’s an old Bonneville motor I was extremely lucky to purchase from a widow.

Got the front end back in, 2.5 dropped axle I had hanging up and a spring pack with reversed eye that someone on the Hamb was doing several years ago. For the life of me I can't remember their name. I used one in my roadster too. Take out some leaves in the rear next, along with Millworks reversed main leaf. It had 12 leaves front and rear, should ride like a Cadillac now lol

Got an opportunity to scan an original ‘28 Winfield carburetor catalog including a number of additional late ‘28 to early ‘29 supplements. No S/SR stuff in this catalog, but is pretty cool to see all the Model M installation instructions for the various brands of cars. This is the first time I’ve seen the elusive Model N “racing” carb advertised, and it’s for a truck! Have most of the catalog uploaded to my website and can be viewed here;

Hope to get my photocopied copy of the ‘34 catalog uploaded too, but prefer to find more original catalogs to scan and upload as well. If anyone out there has an original Winfield catalog or factory/dealer documentation, I would like the opportunity to document it as well

Looks like there is/was a fella in NZ making a rubber set dampener, possibly the one pictured above. Not sure if they are still available today, but repops of the Winfield dampener and also a modified Fluidamper were available years ago. The Fluidamper would be ideal as it reacts to the engine rather than designed around the engine. Pretty sure it was a modified Chebby design…

 

There's a company up this way who makes custom harmonic dampers, have been thinking about tracking them down, I know they've done at least one for an A

 

Sacramento Vintage Ford used to sell a "Winfield" harmonic crank balancer, worth a shot to find one!

Crank harmonic damper, made by Murray Horn in New Zealand, two piece for easy install, available with a smooth shaft for a modern front seal or original style shaft for the original gasket.
