Hot Rods How about some love for the T-Bucket?

And "23 skidoo" for you older guys, lol. Haven't heard that saying for while

 

this car appeared in one of speedway's t-bucket specific catalogs (when they bothered doing such things).

 

With so many variations/variables …there are way more chances to miss the mark…and unfortunately, many do!

 

@A Boner while there are some things that are a matter of preference, I'll agree that some stuff is simply wrong.
When talking about an open wheel everything visible car, you can't hide or disguise much. Matching themes, era, finishes, even fasteners are all subject to judgement by onlookers.
Add to that the typical budget nature of the thing, plus it's stereotypical Beginner status and you are going to have questionable choices.
While those of us who have researched and absorbed the build styles displayed in this thread and others have developed opinions, it's also true that aside from a few legendary examples, there really isn't much in the way of a benchmark example to base them on. A black fenderless 32 roadster with staggered wheel and tire combo is going to be pretty solid. There's even a thread on homogeneous rods, but I doubt there are Ts held as normal or safe by most. I won't post the 'generic' T that can be found often for sale at some dealer, but most would make changes to those too. It sure wouldn't fit HAMB.

 

And further , everybody's a critic & taste is totally subjective. Ne mans crap is another's bread & butter .

 

T buckets look like they would be an easy/cheap build…so many bucket builds are novice attempts, with limited funds. Don’t get me wrong, some of my favorite buckets are low buck…and nothing fancy, but, just “have the look”!

 

The only real problem with this thread is how it makes me want a T-bucket of my own.

This one is different. The back end seems to have lost a lot of the curve underneath.

But it isn't showing the abrupt break of a touring front, unless the angle is exactly right.

 

The pavement is so wide if that an airstrip? LSR race perhaps?
