    I don’t know if anyone has made a thread, but Let’s check in, I’ve met some of you Vets through this site, also met one of you on a deployment, I was stationed with 1 of you as well at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC

    My draft number was #46.
    The Nam war was still going on.
    Went into the Army in 72, got out in 75.
    Did the extra year to avoid getting drafted and sent over seas.
    Basic training at Fort Ord, Monterey California.
    AIT, Brooks Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio Texas.
    42D-10 ( Dental lab Tech) Fort Sill Oklahoma.
    Honorable Discharge, no regrets!

    Drafted in July 1967, Went to A troop 1/9 Cav First Air Cav on Christmas Day 67 with the presents.

    My dad who was a WWII Fifth Army Air Corps Vet who had served in the South Pacific said he would sign me up at the Renton VFW when I got back and the Monday Night after I got back in December 68 he signed me up and we had one hell of a party in the clubhouse.     I had a long list of duty stations during my time in the USAF 1969-75.
    First Lackland AFB basic
    Shepherd Field Tech school
    Mchord AFB OJT
    Hickam AFB
    Elmendorf AFB
    Travis AFB
    Loadmaster on C-141 cargo jets starting in MATS, and later became MAC.

    Of all the cars I'd like to have back, foremost in my mind is that 62 Impala I had when I was drafted in 69. Even if I'd been able to somehow keep it, it surely would have been a wreck soon after my return from Asia.....but still.

    A Battery, 4/77th Aerial Rocket Artillery, 101st Airborne.

    drafted in April 70 ended up a tank tech (M60A1s) went to Europe on reforgers 2 and 3 drove home in a 63 impala ss 409 340 hp won clas twice at manhatten raceway dragstrip i 71

  23. Drafted November 1969. After training spent the rest of service at Fort Bragg, Signal Battalion, 6th Army Corps Headquarters.

    1966 - 1970 USAF……permanent stations were
    McChord AFB, Tacoma 2-67 to 8 67.
    8-67 to 8-70, Hickam AFB Honolulu, 61st FMS Aero Repair….got to have a reciprocating engine with a prop to get my shop out. They had 4 engines, 28 cylinders each with 2 spark plugs per cylinder……not a fun job
    My father retired as an E-8 43191 skill code. I was an E-4 ,43151 skill code. Dad and I could really talk shop…

    US Army '65 to '67. First group through Fort Ord after losing a bunch to Spinal Meningitis and then the balance of my tour training OCS as forward observers at Ft Sill.
