I don't actually have pix of this thing behind Clarence but it's been there several times. The two longest trips I've pulled it on were to Chicago and East Tennessee (from central Missouri). Behind Clarence that is. I've pulled it long distances behind cars and Harleys. It's actually a factory made motorcycle trailer. The license plate is from 2005. It's been sitting behind a shed since then until Saturday when I pulled it out and hosed it off. I'm starting to refurbish it to pull behind my 31 2-dr sedan that's under construction. It probably will need to be painted so I'm thinking paint it and the car with the same paint at the same time. Also I think Speedway repo 50 Pontiac taillights would be an improvement. We'll see what it looks like after a pressure wash. Let's see what you pull with your hot rod. I searched to see if this has been covered and the threads I found were 20 (+/-) years old. NOTE: after seeing some travel trailers posted I changed the thread title. Those campers are beyond cool. If we can find a canned ham to pull behind Clarence we'll snag one in a heartbeat. Unfortunately it'll HAVE TO have a bathroom including a shower. As far as I know no one made anything like that until in the late 60's and I really want the aesthetics of an earlier trailer. We'll take what we can get though. If anyone has one for sale please contact me.
I built this little guy. It was originally a single wheeler but the frame was missing when I got it. I have yet to give it a pull.
Someone has a bike trailer that is a small tent trailer for sale for 500 in Puyallup Wa. The thing for sure needs a lot of cleanup and work including a new tent part if you wanted to use it for camping but the price isn't bad and it would tow behind a smaller rod. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/560113003172444 We used to pull a 1965 16 ft trailer behind the 48 to Rod runs and family camp outs and are thinking about getting a newer light weight trailer to tow behind the 48 when I get it together.
I built this tear drop camper several years ago and have used it a lot. On the way to Bonneville 24 here
It's 4x8 but it doesn't have a rear kitchen. I was trying to build it as light as possible. Great size for 1 person or really cozy for 2...
These were made as everyday Aussie workhorses. 65 years later, there is no reason they can't still work. The sedan is still 132 cubes of inline-6 power, three on the tree and four wheel drums... you just drive that a bit more defensively. Cheers, Harv
