Wow Todd..amazing..... I hate to ask... but did Mr .Munz Pass?
I met him at a GNRS once... an absolute Gentleman.... I joked with him that I wanted my car back the Busby Coupe..... my absolute Favourite .
He said anytime I was in Wisconsin to visit.... which of course never happened.

Man.. what a collection of the finest early Fords!
    Great Thread Todd.

Richard is still with us although I have heard his health is not the best. Yes, a true gentleman, I have been fortunate enough to tour his collection a number of times, he was always gracious and more than willing to explain the details of every one of his vehicles. ( His motorcycle collection is just as impressive as his car collection, check out the Mecum site for a complete list)
It is sad that the collection is breaking up, the building that housed the collection is a vintage automotive repair shop with three floors and a pair of winding indoor ramps to connect the floors, perfect venue for a collection of this caliber. No doubt the cars will find good homes, after all we are just caretakers until the next person acquires them.
My best wishes to Richard, a true asset to the automotive hobby.

Dicks a great guy and although it's been quite a while since I last saw him I'm pleased he's still around as he's getting on some now. Sad his collection is going over the block but I guess he's decided its time. I hope his grandson will eventually get his gold roadster, iv he's not already. That's got some miles.

Richard is a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting him in Victoria at the Deuce Days show where we parked our '36 Roadsters alongside each other. He had traveled with his grandson and said they were having a lot of fun together on the road.

  20. I waited a few years to get an invite to visit The Munz Collection. In 2012 I became acquainted with some of his rodder buddies in Madison.
Shortly after that I hopped on the Gary Meadors rod tour celebrating Andy Brizio's 80th birthday. One of the stops was at The Munz Collection.
I've been there several times since, although it's been several years ago, now.

The copper Bill Woodard roadster has quite a history. Hot rodded in the fifties and cover car in a very memorable pose. Then later restored to stock. Then restored to its hot rod form by a HAMBer.

  22. A perfect example of what a responsible steward should do with such a collection. I imagine it's hard to let go but you ain't going to be around forever, however, only you would know what it's worth and know all of the details to find them the proper new home so that they don't wind up like the Kookie T or Golden Sahara. I really dig the Breece coupe just on account that it's visually loud and looks great in person.

Good to see Bill Woodard get the proper credit for the ‘32 Roadster he built. Best wishes to Mr. Munz, he put together a fantastic collection.

Thanks for showing his wonderful collection! I'm sorry he has to part with it. Looks like he has been an excellent care taker.

WOW......I live less than an hour away from his building and collection. Several years ago, had a brief connection with him and a discussion of some of his dirt track midget stuff and some projects and parts that I had. Was always going to go over and visit......never did.
