I was at the Winternational shows in '62, '63 and '64.
Got my pic on page 39 of the April '63 issue of Hot Rod Magazine...an 11 year old hotrodjack. Made me somewhat of a celebrity among my buddies at John Foster Dulles Elementary school, La Mirada, Calif.

Thanks Moriarity! Too bad it's not like that today! There was something special during that time period that is missing in today's world!

My parents were not car people, but took me to car shows to indulge their "hot rod crazy" kid. I was an only child...and they spoiled the crap out me.:D

very cool..although the footage seems to have run through some god awful AI filter..... ugh.

  10. That's pretty cool. I had to listen to who the owner of Lil Coffin was a couple times since it didn't sound like he said Dave Stuckey. Then, that caused me to go see who all did own it...

    Thanks for sharing.

My buddy Butch Harness from Wichita is related to Larry Farber, years ago I gave Butch a Lil coffin postcard and he had Larry autograph it for me. I looked for it to take a pic of but couldn't find it ... grrrr I have too much crap LOL

I loved those indoor shows. I was around 13 then and my Dad would take me every year. I had to promise a lot of free lawn mowing and car washes to get him to take me to the Winternationals drags but no arm twisting was required for the car shows, he was all in.
