Does anybody recall a late 50's Build where the rear panel and deck were bobbed up Exposing the rear spring? I think the frame had been chromed and was built by a gentleman serving in the Navy at the time? May have been a SoCal/ San Diego build? I can't remember if it was featured in a magazine or if there was just a snapshot taken from the rear three-quarter view. A picture or Two would be great.
I haven’t tried to locate a photo yet, but I’m thinking about a black, channeled, flathead powered car with long chromed side pipes. The pipes were angled upward.
For sure not the Calori car, the roadster in question was hood less. The cl***ic photo of the car is a three quarter shot with the owner looking back at the camera over his shoulder.
Bobtailed A. hummmm. I like them! Back in the late 1950,I enjoyed a number of little book mag.s,a few bobtails would show up. They piked my interest,as the old rust n crash in rear, 28 roadster body I had got ,was messed up in the rear, being crushed in up too were the front edge of trunk lid had been. As a teen, that was more damage then I could fix,so I just cut it off. Used the the mostly good part to build my Rod. Did get it first running in 1959. Still have,an drive. For most Bobtails, there a story, but we don't always get to know.
