Recommendations 5x5.5 bolt pattern for Mustang 2. ECI Brake kit?

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by streetrodder51, Nov 5, 2024.

  1. Hi All!

I have a '36 3 window that I recently bought back. Unfortunately it has a Mustang 2 front suspension. I need to put a narrower front wheel on it. I would like to go back to a original type '40 ford wheel. But the bolt pattern on the '36 is 5x4.75. I know ECI use to make a big brake kit for Mustang 2 with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. But they no longer make them due to not much demand.

If I could find a used ECI kit that would be great. If you know of anyone that may have one laying around.

Or if there are any other suggestions to get the 5x5.5 bolt pattern on Mustang 2.

I've done some searches but they usually bring me to a generic page with a generic photo of a mustang 2 rotor that only says its available in 5x5.5. Makes me a little Leary on ordering something from an unknow site.

I posted over in the wanted section for the ECI kit but it got deleted.

    Thanks!

I believe your correct, but they show a "big brake" kit, must be just larger rotor.

Yes, it's a larger rotor, compared to the stock 9" setup

Well there is a hubless Rotor used on the Chevy Trackers with that bolt pattern, but it would likely need a custom made hub. There is also the 1988 F150 hubless rotor but again it would need a custom hub

  11. I want to say the ECI kit used F150 rotors. But they don't have the description on their website anymore. I'll have to see if i can find an old catalog.
