    Romeo Palamides, California hot rodder, racer, builder of drag racing chassis, jet cars and maybe most significantly he produced early magnesium wheels with that endeavor becoming American Racing Wheels. At some point he sold his interest in the company and years later moved to the Chicago area where he operated a chassis shop. Romeo died in 1988 at the age of 62.

    Imho, for what it is worth, those lizard nosed, chute pack dragsters were a thing of beauty

    Typical Aussie 60's "East Coast Style" hot rod. Heavily channelled 34 coupe with 32 grille and probably running a 272 cube Y block.. Based on the licence plate this was a Queensland car.

    Can't see enough of the licence plate but could be a New Zealand car.

  18. The little you can see of the plate looks like tall thin letters/numbers. Aussie plates had shorter and thicker numbers/letters. So i say Kiwi.
