    You don't have a turd. 336hp @ 5700 is right on the money for a 10.5:1, dual plane, single four, stock 291 headed 327 with a mild cam in it.

    Sounds like a perfect driver engine. Put some miles on it, seat the rings, and it'll run even better.

    I’m pretty sure those pistons you pictured are cast , so be careful with the rpms and nitrous if you shoot it again .

    Sounds to me like a well tuned tunnel ram would fix it.
