Oskars "real gasmonkey garage" is ready. Today he can start to rebuilt one of his 1976 Honda Monkey. I found that SnapOn -toolbox, which I was bought 10y ago long beach hi-perf swapmeet (50usd). Just increased him basic metric and inc wrenches etc. Im making normal "season maintenance". Roadster is ready for next summer road trips. Aulis
Roadster generator brushes are changed. After that polarized it. Generator is sometimes "forget" how to charge,... so polarizing is needed. Also removed floor woods. I sand those, glued little too. Today I make board models. I like to make same style floor woods to my coupe too. Oskar started Monkey project. He also changed new seat cover which I was ordered from ebay. Yes, I have there only one SBC 6" Bill Miller alum.rod, one BBC Brooks 6,585" alum.rod, one Titanium SBC 6" rod. Those rods remember me big sum of money spent during 25y when had more race cars. Alum. rods used only 40-70 start / set.... Aulis
Roadster floor woods are made in USA. Im not very convinced those quality. I fixed those, sand and paint new wood wax. Same time I made new models for 5w coupe floor woods. Aulis
Roadster is ready for April 2025, when rodding season is start again. I fixed those floor woods, sand and new wood wax. Also polished floor alum. parts and put all back on their places. Tomorrow I continue 5w coupe. Yesterday evening I was made those simple drawings for Miss Paula. She has made interior to my ex. roadster which I sold to man from Italy. Miss Paula also made seat to my 331cid hemi coupe. Aulis
All interior plywoods are painted. Today also lifted body off. Nearly 20y old 1932 "body stand" is simple and good. Maybe little too high,but when paint under car, inside trunk etc... This is very good. Aulis
Thank You Everybody. Yes Tim, Im working alone in my garage. I have many times "special arrangements" when I work with frame, body,... No extra hands available. I use same rack with roadsters, coupes... Maybe 7-8 1932 body has been installed on it. I have left one long side open between wheels, then engine hoist is possible to use. This time I cut 4" from those 10mm thread studs. I was not sure what is max height to get body out from my garage. Ex 5w coupe I built in Kalajoki Beach (200km north from here) where I had house after moved back from California. Here few pics from my website www.auliz.fi. Today hammered seat, sand it. Need to pait it 2k Acryl during weekend. Monday all ready for upholstery. Also painted seat woods, drilled newproduction firewall and installed spoonpedal. Aulis
Seat frame painted, seat woods painted and springs installed. Pass side door is ready after made and welded those window lower stoppers. To firewall I try to use those "press to hole" thread sleeves. Not enought thight installation, so I cut and weld those longer nuts. Aulis
Hahaaa,... Slowly.... first need to learn which way nut is open and close and trust itself how to use hammer without hammering left hand.... Last winter he tig weld couple of hours (quitar stand). he told me "this is rather easy to learn". I answered, "You´re correct, it takes only twenty years and You are happy over 50% of weldings made". I have been one week out from garage. I have bacteria in in my RH thumb. Last thursday I opened one bottle and get small cut.... Saturday-Sunday Thumb was bigger and bigger. Monday I drived to first-aid. Antibiotic pills are now slowly effect. today continued slowly. Also bought 10litre thinner, 5litre grease cleaner, 9litre epoxy primer... Those all are needed when I start to paint. I install outside of garage 4meter x 4meter pop-up conopy with walls. 9kw heater and 2pc 25meter (20 000lumen) led lightband. "Pro" painting room ..... aulis
Metallic putty to weldins, then normal medium soft 2k putty. Today 3-4hours worked with trunk lid. Tomorrow 2-3 hours more and its ready for epoxy primer. Ou shit, I like sanding (and welding, grinding weldings...). When I was younger skills were not so developed, but I think all what You have done long time before this day is good learn and step by step have learn something... Auliz, here in America we have a saying for how to assemble / dis-assemble nuts and bolts. "Lefty loosie, rightie tighty "I hope this makes sense to you. Turn the fastener, nut / bolt, counter - clockwise to loosen, turn clockwise to tighten.
Saturday is ready. Jr. promised to come 9.00-10.00.... arrived 11.30. We have so different day rythm. I sleep 21.00 -> 4.30, Junior is never sleep before midnight.... I made simple stand for Honda Monkey. Can remove and install all easy and safety without any straps. Today get trunk lid ready. both sides. Cowl lid I get to right shape. It was too flat, now more curved to same "r" than cowl top. Also drilled panel below trunk lid. That is UP newproduction stuff. Good quality. After painted body and panels, just bolt on. All holes are 1mm too big. Helps adjusting when finally installation. Aulis
