That's luxury... you can fish right out the front window of your camper.

I took apart my first car to restore it at age 19, then went on to serve for 2 years, got married, got a kid, moved overseas for 10 years, then lack of funds and/or time, restore a home, build a business, restore a farm. At 52 my car is still on wooden blocks but has been dried stored all of this time.
That's how : life sometimes gets in the way.

  5. Took me 30 years to finish my first one. Life got in the way.

  7. Sometimes, they sit. My 53 Monarch I first bought when I was 15, in 1992. My friend from high school convinced me I was a restoration expert at that age. Tore it apart in a bazillion pieces. Lost most of the parts and all interest for awhile. I realized how hard it was to find parts for a 53 Monarch, so I was in my mid-20's before I found a parts car. Been collecting ever since. I'm 47 now, have built a few vehicles since, but it's still dear to my heart. I have just over a decade to go until retirement, then I will finish the build I started 32 years ago... I went out to do three things: first was to buy some citric acid (magic stuff) from a food wholesaler - Aus$18 [US$15?] for a bit less than 2 kg; I forgot to do the second thing ... ... ... ; third was the following pics in a northern suburb of Melbourne. Land Rover was at one house; second pic (FB or EK Holden) at another house; third and fourth pics (another FB/EK Holden) at another place not far away. 010.JPG 011.JPG 016.JPG 017.JPG

This bonnet is probably from an FX or FJ Holden; same place as the blue & white FB/EK. 018.JPG
