I see now the ads here are now encompassing the whole screen. They keep popping up every five seconds. It’s getting hard to view this OT forum.
It’s sad really,,,I rarely come here anymore . I know I’m nobody ,,,but I miss the knowledge and feeling that everyone was always trying to help . Now it’s just an ad generator,,,with frustrating screens that get on your nerves . Tommy
I respectfully disagree. The HAMB has not changed except for what was requested. @Ryan listened to the people who were complaining about the '65 limit and he started the OT section with the tradeoff being that there would be advertising on that section only. Every other aspect of the whole show remains no advertising, at least on my computer. Maybe some moderator can help out with your issue. They have always helped me and others here. With regards to the OT section, you have to give up something you have to get something you want.
All I really care about right now is writing. Nobody is forced to read it. if you are logged in, there are no ads except in the off topic forum.
This is what I see on my phone. But I'm using Firefox browser, and an extension. Perhaps you could look into the settings on your browser? Or just look at the on topic forums.
I hadn’t even looked at the off topic forum in months. There are too many ads. This week I’ll work on that.
I wonder if it's a mobile device thing. They are on my desktop, but not what I would consider excessive. Definitely far better than other forums I visit.
Yep. Just now piecing it together—the ads, those sneaky bastards, seem to slither in only on mobile. On desktop, it’s just the one obnoxious eyesore up top, glaring at me like a cheap motel sign. But mobile? A goddamned infestation. This is going to be a monumental pain in the ass to untangle, I can already feel it. Digital whack-a-mole with no instructions and no mercy. A slow descent into ad-serving hell.
I took a look under the hood and can't figure it out, so I filed a support ticket with the ad server folks. Hopefully we will get this fixed early this week.
