I’ve seen the same thing with Plymouths titled as 49s. My 1947 Pontiac has a few 46 features on it.

Yes, the actual '49s weren't ready for production so Pym & Dodge, possibly DeSoto & Chr, continued making '48s as '49s. Technically the '49s would be '49 1/2s in modern terminology.

$17,000 is not what I would call inexpensive!

 

If that wasn't so far away I'd be all over it. My dad had a 60 Chevy when I was in high school. I loved that car.

 

Zax, if I had a hankerin for that car...I would be packin to leave in the morning. Rust free thing from AZ is cheaper than fixing a rotten one from GA. Easy drive, I 10 all the way, no blizzards, nothin to it.

I'd keep this one more or less stock, depending on if it has the engine in it. They're ~2,400 pounds (I like lighter cars). It's got at least two of the original hubcaps on it still. The trunk has to be accessed from the inside on this model.
