Rang a restorer I know this week to see if he knew where there might be some cab parts I needed for my 34 pick up project. We got chatting and to cut a long story short FC Ute who is scratch building the Model A and I went 4 a drive and now the 34 is for sale and this will be coming home next week. Its pretty much complete including all seat frames etc and RUNS! or it will by the time I go get it. Was stored in a shed for 40 years. To say Im stoked is a complete understatement.

This T was also there but not for sale.

Thinking it will be chopped about 4", channeled. 4" dropped I beam. Disc brakes, repair the small amount of rust and NOT paint it. Driveline is undecided as yet.

Thinking it will be chopped 4" or so as I must maintain 8" of gl*** for rego. Will be channeled. Dropped I beam using unsplit front bones if possible, perhaps z the rear when I box the ch***is. Although the more I look at it the more I like it tall :)

Driveline not decided as yet. Its a runner but Im pretty sure the 4 banger is coming out.

That thing is really cool. I dig the headlights that are on it, too.

Personally, I'd be tempted to add juice brakes and new tires, and drive it around as-is, maybe replace the broken gl***. At least for a while Rare to find one that's that complete, even around here.

Plus, when you get it up and functional again, you can show it to your restorer friend, and then he'll feel better about selling you other cars in the future.

Thats a real good idea and one we floated around yesterday. I'm keen to drive it so it may even go that way. I fell in love with this the moment I saw it. It has small amounts of very repairable rust. Even my neighbours knew something was up yesterday when they saw me in the morning running up the steps to the carpark knowing how late I'd been up the night before and what sort of state I was in when I did crash out :) It sure was worth suffering through a hang over. :)

PS the old guy who put me onto this wanted the headlights so it was the least I could do for him.

The red steering wheel makes it an early 28.

Nice car!...I can see this one being left pretty much "as-is"...maybe give it a good cleaning, replace the busted gl***, and some brush applied enamel.....

Actually, here in the USA, I know that Ford used the Red steering wheels as late as February of 1929..and the Black wheels came in as early as late August/early September 1928....People got upset when their hands were wet that they got Red **** on their hands...so Ford changed it to Black--then they got black **** on their hands....(These early wheels were splined for the shafts on the 7 sector steering gear boxes...)

Hmmnn...if I could trade with an Aussie for the right hand drive parts, I could set up a Model A ch***is and get the contract to carry the mail here on the Rural Route....

  18. Pete that's a great find,now i know why the 34 has to go...
Should have the boys from the underground come round on a sat or sunday
for a pulling down the A project, just like the dub i did a few years back???.
