You forget that there are some folks on here who have memory loss so we see new pictures everyday. And, some pics deserve to be posted over and again.I will start with just one. I vote for one like this be included on every page. That way I can admire her beauty anew everyday! upload_2024-11-27_21-43-34.jpeg

To qualify, it's just an idea @Volksrob, really the sign expresses it well.
To quantify, this thread has amassed 4880 pages in some four and a half years. Even the Drag Cars In Motion thread has got only 2481 pages in seventeen years.
I'm sorry if you are offended or annoyed, mate.

    Hello,

Late November to December holiday season always got in full swing as we all approached that time of the year. As we all liked to cruise So Cal’s big time places, Hollywood, Balboa Island, Laguna Beach and of course our own Bixby Knolls to Belmont Shore areas, we had to include out of the way places to spice up the season.

Hollywood and Vine always had an attraction for the girls we knew. It was the call of fame and movie stars, as well as the constant TV shows we all watched as teens. When the topic of “would you like to go to Hollywood to walk around and do some shopping?” came into the conversation, there was a happy smile across the room or car.

Who could resist a road trip to Hollywood? About an hour drive or about the same distance as “26 miles across the sea…” took us away from our local cruising scene, into the glamour of the distant location.

As we all got out of our cars, the street did have some glamour not seen in our own neighborhoods. The busy streets, the flashy neon signs, and the sign: Hollywood and Vine on the corner post. A famous corner with history flowing all around...

What was on that corner was a Wallach’s Music City store. The largest one in the chain. We had a Wallach’s Music City located in Lakewood, a mere 10 minutes or about 4 miles from Bixby Knolls.

It was our go to place to buy the latest in 45's and 33 LP albums. It was the ability to sit inside of those cool glass, sound proof rooms to listen to the latest record(s) and then be happy when we walked out with our latest purchase. The cool thing was in late 1959, my brother took us to Wallach's Music City in Lakewood. this is where we listened to the best sounding LP about drag racing ever recorded.
upload_2024-11-28_3-10-16.jpeg Recorded live at the 1959 U.S. Nationals in September of 1959 and was on sale by late November/early December. We were the only teens listening to drag racing sounds inside of those glassed in booths. It was music to our ears. My brother had the money, so he bought the LP album. Today, it still resides in our LP Album collection, but it has also been converted to digital recordings, too.

The soundtrack of the So Cal racers that ventured to Detroit, Michigan in September (Labor Day) were those that I filmed during the Summer of 59. Junior Thompson/Speed Engineering, Kenny Lindley/Don Hampton "Misfire," Dragmaster SBC, H&H Garage MEL powered and of course, the Sidewinder from Joe Mailliard/Long Beach. (All sound films on
