I'm using a camaro disk brake conversion up front with a 4.75 lug pattern and I am trying to figure out what is the best way to mate up a 6x139.7 gm rim. Now my question is how can I keep my *****in' rims but retain the disk brake conversion? BTW its a 38 ford spindle if you need that little bit of info
http://www.wheeladapter.com/who_is_fred_goeske.asp Give Fred a call, if he doesn't have it on the shelf he'll make some up. His adapters look like fine jewelry.
If there's room. I would have the hubs redrilled for the 6 lug pattern. It would eliminate any offset issues and be stronger in the long run. You didn't say if your brakes use lift off rotors or spindle mount. Lift-off would certainly simplify things for future brake work.
thanks for the help, there lift off rotors. found a old timer that used to be a hot rodder back in the day kinda guy who works at a machine shop that said he can do the rotors so we will see.
I hate adapters, but it's your call... I'd trade your rims for some that would fit without having to adapt them.
wheel vintiques? stockton wheel? Probably some other places like that. Also, what year camaro conversion do you have? In some cases you can use a B-body Impala rotor and it has a 5" bolt pattern and also a greater wheel selection that a 6 lug.
yea thats the delima im in now, 6lug 139.7 pattern. I dig the the rims just cant figure out how to use them
Far as drilling Camaro rotors for a different bolt pattern, it may not be possible. The Camaro rotors I have - new from the parts house - have hollowed out areas between the lugs. There's not enough material to hold a lug stud properly. Original rotors and perhaps gennie GM parts may have rotors that are solid all the way around.
