    City: Mount Morris

    State: Illinois
    Price: $17,500
59 GMC 100 Series 1/2-ton pickup. A solid rust-free west Texas / New Mexico truck. I bought it out of Dalhart Texas, about 40 miles east of New Mexico. About 30,000 miles on a full mechanical restoration, finished in 2016. New driveline, wiring, suspension, brakes etc. Custom interior, 326 Pontiac V8, Saginaw 4 speed transmission, 59 Pontiac rear axle, with Moser axle shafts. I built it as a daily driver, and to tow my 55 Chevy to the drag strip. Drove it daily for two years and then bought a 1984 S-10 for my daily driver.
Mildly customized with shaved emblems, 1952 Chevy park lights, 1953 Buick taillights and chrome reverse wheels.

The only bad spot on this truck when I bought it, was over the windshield. Like with many 55 - 59 Chevy / GMC trucks mice had made a nest in the double wall roof, over the windshield. This problem was repaired correctly at a restoration shop. The outer roof skin and inner roof structure were removed, and the inner structure was replaced.
All of the factory seams were followed with the factory spot welds drilled out. The entire inner roof area has been primed, painted and rust proofed. The original, undamaged outer roof skin was reinstalled.

The engine is a 326 Pontiac and has been bored .030, with new pistons, rings bearings. It has a new stock replacement cam, lifters, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump, etc. It was originally out of a 1967 LeMans factory stick shift car, and received a complete rebuild. The bell housing is a Lakewood scattershield that was modified for bellhousing motor mounts. The front motor mounts are NOS Hurst motor mount adapters.

The intake is an Edelbrock P4B, with a 650 Holley vac. secondary carb. The first two photos are from when I first bought the engine.

All of the suspension and brakes have been replaced, with new springs, shocks, kingpins, shackles, bushings, and tie rod ends. Additionally, it received new wheel bearings, brake shoes, brake springs, wheel cylinders, stainless brake lines, and brake hoses. The suspension parts were powder coated.
The rear fenders, running boards, and lower bed supports are original to the truck. The bed sides, front panel and tailgate are repros from Mar-K truck parts. 90% of all of the new parts used in the truck are "Made In USA".
